Personal Assistant – Shrewsbury | Art, Books, Riverside Walks & Good Conversation!

We're looking for a kind, cheerful and interesting person to spend time with an older lady who is an artist and retired teacher, living independently in Shrewsbury with Alzheimer's.

She's creative, curious about the world and loves art, books, antiques, riverside walks, browsing charity shops, visiting galleries and, above all, a good long conversation. She enjoys getting out, meeting people and exploring interesting ideas.

The role is mainly about companionship and helping her enjoy life, but also includes preparing meals, cooking, a little housework and helping with everyday activities.

We're looking for someone warm, patient, reliable and good company, with a sense of humour and plenty of enthusiasm for life. Someone who enjoys chatting, getting out of the house and taking an interest in the world around them.

Previous experience of dementia would be helpful but isn't essential. Personality, kindness and a genuine ability to connect with her are much more important.
