Sharing Your PA Advert on Social Media
Once your Personal Assistant (PA) advert has been approved and is live on the Shropshire PA noticeboard website, you may wish to share the advert link on social media sites such as Facebook to help reach a wider audience. The noticeboard allows potential Personal Assistants to contact you through the platform, helping to protect your privacy.
How to share your advert safely
- Open your live advert on the Shropshire PA Noticeboard.
- Copy the web address (URL) of your live advert from your browser.
- Paste the URL anonymously into your chosen social media post, local community group, or job vacancy page.
- Encourage interested people to view the full advert and apply through the noticeboard.
Protecting your privacy
When sharing your advert online, you can do so anonymously and by sharing the advert’s web link (URL) rather than your personal details. This allows you to reach a wider audience through social media while helping to protect your privacy.
We recommend that you:
- Share using anonymous option on the chosen social media site
- Share only the link to your advert, rather than posting personal contact details.
- Use social media platforms such as Facebook, community groups and local job pages to promote your advert anonymously by directing people to the PA Noticeboard advert.
- Do not include your home address, full postcode, telephone number, email address, or other identifying information in your social media post.
- Avoid sharing photographs that could identify your home or exact location unless you are comfortable doing so.
- You can add interesting details about the job, e.g. hours/rough area/PA wanted to support person who loves animals
- Encourage interested applicants to view the full advert and make contact through the PA Noticeboard.
- Consider asking a family member, friend, authorised person, nominee or advocate to share the advert anonymously on your behalf if you would prefer an additional level of anonymity.
Example message for social media:
I’m looking for a Personal Assistant in the xxx Shropshire area for xx hrs/week. To find out more and apply, please view my advert on the Shropshire PA Noticeboard:
[Paste advert link here]
Please apply through the noticeboard for further information.
Using the advert link in this way can help you reach a larger number of potential applicants whilst maintaining control over the personal information you share publicly
Things to remember
- Sharing your advert more widely may help increase the number of responses you receive.
- Anyone responding through social media should still be directed to the PA Noticeboard advert for full details.
- You remain responsible for safely recruiting and checking that any potential PA is suitable for the role.
- We recommend obtaining references and checking DBS requirements where appropriate.
