PA required to support an individual in their own home SY5 and community
We are looking for a reliable, flexible and person-centred Personal Assistant to support the individual with community access, routines, and day-to-day support around a planned move to their bungalow. The individual has well-established preferences, values consistency, and benefits from support that is calm, thoughtful, and dependable.
Support will include community outings, hill walking, bowling, cinema trips, meals out, music-related activities, and helping manage changes to plans in a reassuring way.
The role would also include supporting with personal care at times, cooking meals and working flexibly around routines, this includes day shifts and sleep in’s.
The right person will need to understand that this is not a one-size-fits-all support role. The individual support needs are specific, and it is important to build trust, offer meaningful choices, and avoid unnecessary disruption. The role requires someone who can follow agreed ways of working, think ahead, and support activities that genuinely suit the individual rather than taking a generic approach.
We are looking for someone who is:
- knows the Shropshire area well
-Kind, patient and dependable
- Flexible and able to respond to changing plans
- able to work during the daytime, evening and weekends
- Confident supporting someone in the community
- Comfortable with walking (Hills) and outdoor activities in a range of weather conditions,
- Able to offer consistency and emotional reassurance
- Good sense of humour and strong interpersonal skills.
- A good communicator who can work collaboratively with family and the wider support team
- who is able to cook meals from scratch with fresh ingredients
- female or male support workers, only females would be expected to offer personal care (at least initially)
- Able to support choice whilst also understanding the importance of routine and careful planning
- Confident driver with strong local navigation skills.
- has experience working with individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Anxiety

Hourly rate – Shropshire council rates - open to negotiation
