Complex Care Wake night Support (SY1)

We are looking for a reliable, compassionate and experienced Wake Night Personal Assistant/Carer to provide person-centred support to a physically disabled person in their own home.

This is a meaningful role for someone who takes pride in helping another person feel safe, comfortable and supported in their own home. Your care and consistency will help promote the individual’s choice, dignity, privacy, comfort and independence, while providing reassurance and practical assistance whenever needed.

This is a waking-night position. The successful applicant must remain awake, alert and available throughout the full 10-hour shift.

Skills needed Main duties * Providing overnight support in line with the individual’s preferences and care plan * Supporting with personal care and toileting, where required * Assisting with repositioning and mobility * Supporting safe transfers in accordance with the care plan and relevant training * Responding promptly and respectfully to requests or changes in need during the night * Offering reassurance, companionship and a calm, supportive presence when appropriate * Helping the individual maintain their dignity, privacy, routines and independence * Supporting a comfortable and settled home environment overnight * Completing care records and reporting any concerns appropriately.

About you The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, calm, respectful and dependable, with an understanding of person-centred support for someone with significant physical disabilities. You will be joining a role where your reliability and thoughtful approach can make a genuine difference every night. By providing consistent support, you will help the individual remain in their own home, maintain their routines and enjoy greater independence and peace of mind. Previous experience in care is preferred, particularly experience involving physical disability, personal care, manual handling or waking-night support.

However, applications from people with the right values, attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered, subject to any required training and checks. The successful applicant must: * Be a non-smoker * Be comfortable living and working in a home with dogs and cats, and treat all household pets respectfully * Be reliable and committed to providing consistent support * Be able to work waking-night shifts as part of an agreed rota * Be able to remain awake, alert and available throughout the entire 10-hour shift * Respect the individual’s privacy, dignity, choices, routines and right to independence * Be willing to follow the agreed care plan and complete any required training The rota will be agreed in advance. The service requires overnight cover every night of the week, but this does not necessarily mean that one person will work all seven nights. Please include your regular availability, preferred nights and the number of shifts you can commit to each week.
