Seeking a kind and compassionate PA for a dog loving lady with early onset dementia in the SY1 area
A self-employed female Personal Assistant is required to support a female adult living with early onset Alzheimer’s disease, funded via a Direct Payment. The role focuses on providing practical assistance and social support to promote independence and wellbeing, while helping to reduce pressure on family carers.
Duties:
Duties will include preparing lunch and drinks, providing social support and companionship, and supporting access to the community, such as accompanying the individual on coffee trips, walks and local activities.
Support with personal care tasks may be required in the future and hours may need to be increased depending on need.
The individual likes dogs and is happy for the Personal Assistant to bring a dog along when appropriate.
Personal Assistant Requirements:
The successful applicant will be a driver with access to their own vehicle and have good local knowledge of Shrewsbury.
They will be patient, reliable, kind, and compassionate, and feel confident and comfortable supporting someone with memory difficulties, offering reassurance and understanding to help maintain confidence and wellbeing.
They will also be required to hold appropriate public liability insurance and a valid DBS certificate, in accordance with Direct Payment requirements.
