Companion / Personal Assistant needed for an elderly lady in Shrewsbury, who enjoys friendly conversations.

We are looking for a reliable, caring and patient Personal Assistant/Companion to support our 82-year-old mother with her day-to-day activities and help enhance her quality of life.

Our mum enjoys friendly conversation, spending time with others and the occasional shopping trip. She previously had a passion for Asian cooking and appreciates companionship and encouragement to remain active and engaged.

Due to some physical and mental health needs, she would benefit from practical support from someone who is compassionate, understanding and able to promote her independence. Experience or knowledge of catheter care would be advantageous.

The role includes providing companionship, accompanying her to hospital and medical appointments, assisting with everyday administration, supporting with shopping, light household tasks such as cleaning and laundry and keeping family members informed of any additional support needs or concerns that arise.

We are looking for someone who can build a positive and trusting relationship with our mum while helping her maintain as much independence, dignity and wellbeing as possible.

Hours per week – 15 hours a week hours but there may be times of some flexibility and more hours required.

Hourly rate – Negotiable
