We are looking for a reliable, cheerful, patient, caring PA to support our 28 year-old son with learning disabilities. He loves trains, road signs and telling lots of stories. He enjoys cooking, DIY and going out and about. We are looking for someone who can help him enjoy his interests and can bring energy, positivity, and a sense of fun to this support role.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys outings and can be comfortable spending time doing the things he loves. This will include attending a local day service.
While being patient and easy going is key, it’s equally important that you are responsible and able to look out for his safety. He can occasionally display challenging behaviour, particularly when he is anxious, frustrated or scared.
Your role will also include supporting him with household chores, helping him to keep his space tidy and organised, preparing meals or snacks, going shopping, running errands etc. You will need to be able to drive and a car is available during working hours, insured for those aged 25 years plus.
This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who can strike a balance between being a great companion and a responsible guide. You'll play an important part in helping him enjoy life while being happy and safe.
