Personal Assistant required for delighful 85y.o. lady near Much Wenlock

We are looking for a male or female Personal Assistant/s for a delightful 85 year old lady, to provide companionship and basic care duties twice per week, for six hours at a time.

Generally, this will be on Saturday afternoon/early evening; and one weekday evening (probably Tue or Wed). Whilst we would prefer to have just one PA, if you can only make one of these times, we are open to consider employing two PAs - one for Sat; one for Tue/Wed).

Due to the times of day that are required, there will be no need for help with dressing/undressing or washing/showering, but help will be needed to assist with getting to/from the toilet or commode. Due to being largely chair and wheelchair bound, you should be comfortable with the use of a transfer belt to help with transferring from a chair or wheelchair to/from the toilet or commode.

In terms of likely tasks, it would be a combination of the following:
Providing light conversation
Helping to pick a movie or something else on TV
Making sure drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks) are always available
Assistance to the toilet or commode
Assistance to the bedroom in case she would like a nap
Helping with some basic chair-based exercises
Letting the dog into the garden now and then
Maybe some light housework (eg. vacuum, dusting, etc) if required

Meal preparation will be unlikely to be needed, other than perhaps preparing a sandwich or snack. If you're feeling up to it and the weather is fine, perhaps even a stroll around the village in her wheelchair.

This lovely lady does have some memory issues but she remains alert and conversational. However, she does also like some peace and quiet and would not wish to be 'entertained' for the entire time. As such, she would benefit from the company of a calm and patient individual. You would be welcome to bring a book to read, laptop, knitting or whatever you might enjoy doing, in the event that she fancies a nap or some quiet time, for example.

Previous experience would be expected.

To comply with Shropshire Council rules, please be able to provide the following:
DBS check (or willingness to have one)
Copy of HMRC letter showing Unique Tax Reference
Copy of Public Liability Insurance Cover

Thank you :)
