PA to support young man to live full life in SY3
I'm a 30 year old male who is looking to employ someone to assist in enabling me to live a fulfilling and as independent life as is possible.
They will need to be person centred, caring, share my values and have a good sense of humour.
They will need to have a good understanding of supporting someone with a learning difficulty and autism and supporting anxiety related issues when coping with new or challenging experiences.
Although I feel I'm more likely to engage with someone close to my age, this does not preclude a more mature person.
I have a learning disability and autism. I also have epilepsy, which is well controlled. I have a good sense of humour and am generally a warm, friendly person, who likes to engage in conversation.
I love music and art and love to attend any groups associated with these activities. I also enjoy browsing in shops and socializing as well as going for walks and some limited exercise activities.
I'm very friendly but lack confidence and will need to build trust with the person supporting me.
I need support and supervision to socialize, managing money, completing shopping, travelling and engaging in social and recreational activities.
I need someone who can engage and share my interests including singing, art, and miniatures.
I'm keen to access support groups in the Shrewsbury area. I'm able to travel by public transport with supervision.
A big part of the role is supporting me in increasing confidence and develop a greater level of independence to reach my full potential.
I currently live with my parents, who are actively involved in meeting my everyday needs.
There is an expectation that the PA will have a current DBS and be able to provide references.
